Adult: huge 90 cm unmistakable seabird.watch for white,cigar-shaped body and long straigth,slender,black-tipped wings.in summer,yellow head of adult inconspicuous.pluges spectacularly for fish.sexes similar.

Juvenile: Grey-brown,flecked white becoming whiter,reaches adult plumage after three years.

habitat: breeds colonially on cliffs on N and W coast,dispersing to winter at sea.

Nest: Mound of seaweed on bere rocky ledge.

Voice: Harsh honks and grating calls at colony.
